SJAS Schweizer Reise 2022

Dear readers, Suprisingly, the straw was super cosy to sleep on! We woke up fresh and ready for the next adventure.  After an amazing breakfast with croissants and many other things, we packed our luggage and headed towards Murten/Morat (FR).  There, we went to the swimming pool and did an activity related to sustainability. We learned about the swiss fauna and flora, the culture, the way to recycle and behave responsibily, but also about seasonal fruits an vegetables as well as how to react and dangerous situations in the nature! It was very useful.  After the activity, we ate our lunch and then went to swim in the lake and the pool. There was a zip line that enden inside the lake as well as a big slide in the pool. We had so much fun! After all the swimming, we took the train again to move to the next house: the scouts house in Basel. There, we ate pizza and everyone performed in a talent show that we had been organizing the last days. It was very nice to see the differ...

Today, we woke up and  it was time to change destination again! After some cleaning and packing we headed towards Kerzers to see the Papiliorama! It is like an animal park but with a lot of butterflies and special animals like sloths! They were really cute and interesting to observe. We also saw a Toucan and other special birds! Of course, our dear Globi came with us.  After this beautiful activity, we headed towards a farm in Dompierre (FR). The farm had a very nice vibe, and the garden was very cozy! The dog who garded the chickens was so friendly. We grilled some sausages and corn, played a fun sports game on a football field and then went to sleep on the straw! It was a super interesting and different experience! 

 Dear readers, On day 6, we went to visit the city of Bern. Durig the morning, we did a treasure hunt in the city-center. It was very fun!  We ate near the University and then had some time for shopping in the afternoon.  In the evening, we returned to the house and prepared some postcards. We played some games and finally went to sleep.

 Dear readers,  We woke up very early in our tents/outside and packed our things and hit the road. We took the train from Fiesch to Thun. While on the trainride we ate the best bread ever!  In Thun, four other leaders were waiting to guide us down the river Aare. It was not the best weather for rafting but we still had an amazing time. Everyone got their lifejackets and a paddle and then we started our long journey down the river. At first it was pretty nice an calm, but then a spontaneous challenge came up: to steal stuffed Globi from Hannah's boat! Since none of us could succeed in the quest, all of the competitors eventually allied to attack the boat and thus save Globi. Everyone was paddling with all their energy and fighting and swimming, it was very chaotic but fun! Finally, five people jumped in to the water with Globi to take the animal to their boats. The fight got intense and had to be paused to prevent Globi's death...  Tired and wet, we finally arrived in...

 Dear readers, Today we woke up at 6:45 AM with the sunrise. We ate breakfast, packed our lunch, cleaned the house and took the train to the next destination! We arrived at Fiesch with the train, and then we took the gondolas up to the Aletsch Glaciar.  The view was astonishing!!!! We stayed for an hour on top of the mountain (approx. 2800m) and had to participate in a photo challenge. Some of the instructions were for example to take a picture behind one of the leaders without them noticing. It was very fun ! The winners will be presented shortly.  After the challenge we ate lunch and then hiked down the mountain and took a gondola... Around 5 pm we arrived to the camping site and started building the tents. We ate Chili Con Carne and celebrated Darius's birthday with cake and candles. Since there was a meteor shower, a lot of us ended up sleeping outside. Of course, we used a military shelter blanket to avoid getting wet from the dew. What a beautiful night!

Dear readers, After a good breakfast, we prepared our bags and it was time to change destination. We left the house in Lucerne and took the train to Hospental, in the canton of Uri. There, surrounded by mountains, it was much cooler! We played soccer and  sports games! After eating typical älpler macaroni, we played werewolf in 3D in the dark. It was a spooky and exciting experience!
